In the Next-Gen‘s last mission, they were fighting against a partnership between the Brotherhood of the Yellow Sign and the Serpent People, and doing poorly, when Silence appeared on the scene and defeated the cultists easily. After the battle he explained his philosophy to the young heroes and took particular interest in Seven the team’s sorceress. When it was time to return home, Seven decided to remain behind and further her Study with Silence, believing that Headmaster Summers had taught her everything he could. The rest of Next-Gen harbor a strong resentment about his and question Silence’s motives.
